Non-player Characters (NPC's)
We do have a some NPC's available for use here to spice up your roleplay. If you would like to use one of these NPC's, please PM the Admin and let them know which NPC you wish to use, which thread it will be for and how long you believe it will take to complete the thread. You will receive a response letting you know your request has been successful.
Another fun little perk of this NPC is that our controlling staff members have the ability to use it to make your roleplay a little more realistic. An NPC can jump in at any time to shake things up. You could suffer a sudden bear attack, or the weather might change abruptly (yes, this NPC can also affect weather!). So get excited, because you're not entirely in control.
Great! Now that we've got that settled, here's the available NPC's.

The Details
The Eurasian lynx is another clever rival and large predator that roams these lands. This big cat is known for its ability to travel and stalk silently, leap large distances, and climb trees. Such abilities make it one of the more interesting threats to wolves. While lynx compete with other predators, they usually keep to themselves and sometimes prefer to stay relatively hidden. Their large furry paws give them the ability to navigate quietly through difficult and snow-covered terrains. With powerful back legs, thick fur, and retractable claws, these agile cats are built for leaping and stealth. They have amazing senses, including great hearing and vision.
Unlike the bears and wolverines, lynx don't scavenge often unless they find something that is easy to take. These felines can pounce on prey with ease, often landing the final blow before the prey could even register the danger. They are capable of taking down prey much larger than themselves, and kill their targets with a swift bite to the neck. Occasionally, these predators may try to take kills from wolves who are out on hunts, but they choose their fights wisely and aren't nearly as bold as the wolverines. The cats will, however, use their stealth to target young pups in spring, if given a good chance to get one without the adult wolves noticing. Mothers will also fiercely defend their kits from any threats.

WOLVERINE

LIFESPAN: 10-14 years. HEIGHT: 100-290 cm, up to 138 cm to the shoulder. WEIGHT: 9-14 kg (females), 13-20 kg (males). (Exceptionally large adults can occasionally be seen, including males up to 32 kg.) FUR COLOR: usually chocolate brown, with light brown stripes running from the head, down along the sides. TOP SPEED: ??? DIET: Carrion, small to medium sized mammals (voles, hares, beavers, foxes, etc.), deer (roe, fallow, reindeer, etc.), and the occasional young lynx or wolf pup. MATING SEASON: Summer. LITTER SIZE: 2-3 kits HIBERNATION: N/A.
The Details
The wolverine is quite a feisty rival of the wolves. Despite their shorter stature, these bold animals shouldn't be underestimated. They have plenty of spirit and can be very clever. These mustelids are good fighters with a surprising amount of strength, and they fear few others. Their strong fighting spirit can get them into fights often, and they rarely back down if challenged. Mothers can be especially vicious when defending their young. Wolverines have strong family bonds.
They are are very opportunistic when it comes to finding food, so they both hunt and scavenge. They tend to cache their when they can spare some of what they gather for later. Much like the bears, they aren't afraid to try and take a kill from the wolves. Its rumored that in the past they sometimes attempted to steal prey from pack camps when the wolves weren't around. Wolverines might even shadow wolves on a pack hunt in hopes of getting a share of the meat. However, these animals are bold enough to take on (and take down) a reindeer if they think the odds are in their favor. They may even try to hunt young lynx or wolves on occasion, if the right opportunity presents itself. They are good tree climbers, and will use this skill to escape danger if fighting isn't a good option. These creatures are not to be trusted by wolves, for they can be cunning tricksters.
